Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when registering: name, email address, phone number, city, state, and blood group. For donors, we also collect donation history records. We collect usage data such as pages visited and features used to improve our service.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to: match blood donors with emergency requests in your area, send push notifications and email alerts about nearby emergencies (only if you opt in), generate donation certificates via email at milestone achievements, improve platform features, and provide customer support.
3. Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications, we may send you alerts about emergency blood requests near your registered city/state. You can disable notifications at any time from your dashboard or browser settings. We only send notifications for urgent medical situations.
4. Email Communications
We send emails for: account verification, donation milestone certificates, emergency alerts (if subscribed), and important service updates. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time. Transactional emails (certificates, critical alerts) cannot be unsubscribed from.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including bcrypt password hashing, JWT authentication, HTTPS encryption, and secure database connections. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We recommend using strong passwords and keeping your account credentials safe.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share minimal necessary data: donor contact details are only visible to matched patients/requestors after explicit matching. Admin users can view anonymized usage statistics. We may share data when required by law.
7. Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Donation records are kept permanently to maintain your donation history and for generating certificates. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing privacy@lifeline.app.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and data, export your donation history (PDF download available in dashboard), and opt out of non-essential communications. To exercise these rights, use the dashboard or contact privacy@lifeline.app.
9. Contact Us
For privacy-related questions or requests, contact: privacy@lifeline.app | LifeLine Blood Emergency Network, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
